Rappelling

Rappelling

Backing up to the edge of the cliff can be very scary and those first few steps over the edge of this 90-foot cliff can be a little unnerving, but once past that point, rappelling is a thrilling adventure with a great view as a bonus. Rappelling is the process of descending a fixed rope by making a controlled slide down the rope, using safety system and equipment, which includes ropes, harness rappel device and anchors that the ropes are threaded through.

Remarks

Rappelling involves a 1/4-mile hike to get to the area where we stay in one location and focus on teaching the techniques needed. It has 3 rappels that start short and gradually get longer and steeper as we progress. After each rappel there is a roped scramble to get back up to the top.
