Cathedral Wash Trail
One of the most epic trails in Marble Canyon, the Cathedral Wash Trail winds through a spectacular slot canyon with various twists, turns, and elevation changes while scrambling the terrain. This unique hike is challenging, rewarding, and boasts an incredible view of the Colorado River at the end. Some rock scrambling and self-navigation is required on this trail, but there are no major technical challenges.

Important Information:
- This 3.3 mile out-and-back trail is considered challenging and takes most people anywhere from 1-2 hours to complete.
- Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
- This area is very popular for hiking, biking, birding, and other outdoor adventures. You will likely encounter other people on the trail.
- There is an entrance fee to enter the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. To access this trail via Lees Ferry, there is a self-pay station and vehicles are charged $30 for a 1-7 day pass. Visitors can also use their interagency parks pass for entrance.
- Keep an eye out for Native American artifacts! Many hikers find old relics as they go.
- Do not attempt this hike if it is raining or if there’s a chance of rain! Slot canyons are notoriously dangerous during rain storms.
- There are no restrooms or drinking water facilities along the way. Pack plenty of water and snacks!
